President Mahinda Rajapakse is expected to appoint his brother Gotabhaya as Defence Secretary. He replaces retired Maj.Gen. Asoka Jayawardena.
Retired Colonel Gotabhaya Rajapakse is expected to take up his appointment soon. Political sources said that several senior UNPers had indicated their willingness to join the ruling party. Among them were two district leaders.
